This is me, Dr. Ed Conley, on my 6th birthday. I tried to find a more up-to-date pic, but no luck. This was my excellent go-kart, made by my dad, taken behind the end prefab at 5 Hatton Hill Road, Litherland (next to the park), north of my home city of Liverpool, Lancashire, England. I went to English Martyrs School, then later St. Wilfrid's High, Bootle Tech (Huge Bird Collidge), University of London (for BSc Microbiology), University of Liverpool (for PhD, Molecular Genetics), Liverpool John Moores University (Lecturer in Biochemistry), Imperial Cancer Research Fund (Cancer Researcher), Leicester University (Senior Lecturer, Molecular Pathology), Medical Research Council CMHT (Group Leader, Ion Channels/Gene Expression Group), Amersham International (Principal Scientist), Cardiff University (Computer Science and Medicine), South West NHS, then three Chief Scientific Officer roles at The Farr Institute for Health Informatics Research, AIMES, and Data Performance Consultancy In Liverpool. Then I got ill, actually very ill for two whole years but then had a liver transplant in Birmingham NHS, that saved my life. In 2023 I begin a new senior research position at the University of Wales - a job that includes teaching nurses and doctors about Digital Healthcare. That will see me through to retirement. In case you've not noticed, I only do this website as a labour of love to my hometown: Litherland.
